Project Zomboid is an exciting survival game set in a post-apocalyptic world. It offers numerous ways to modify the world and personalize the gameplay experience — particularly through the use of cheats and console commands.

How do I enter cheats in Project Zomboid?

In Project Zomboid, cheats and console commands are entered via the developer console. This console is especially useful for players who want to quickly customize their game world or conduct special tests. To access the console, you must start the game in admin mode and activate the developer console.

Cheats in multiplayer mode

In Project Zomboid’s multiplayer mode, not all players have access to cheats. To use cheats in multiplayer mode, you need admin rights on the server you’re playing on. If you’re the server admin, or the administrator has granted you special permissions, you can enter console commands and cheats directly in the game. Without admin rights, these commands are unavailable.

Console commands and cheats in admin mode in Project Zomboid

To enter cheats and console commands in Project Zomboid, you must start the game in admin mode. This is necessary to access the developer console, which allows you to enter commands. Open the mode via the Explorer as follows:

  1. Right-click on the game shortcut: Right-click on the Project Zomboid shortcut.
  2. Run as admin: Select the “Run as administrator” option in the context menu. This ensures that the game is started with the required authorizations.

Alternatively, you can also open the admin mode directly via Steam. To do this, right-click on the game and click on “Properties”:
