This article explains how to set up an email account manually in Microsoft Outlook 2016. This is necessary if the automatic setup of your email account in Microsoft Outlook 2016 does not work. To open Microsoft Outlook, click on the magnifying glass icon on the taskbar. Type Outlook into the search box and then double-click to open the program.
Click on File in the Microsoft Outlook menu bar. Then, in the Account Information section, click on Add Account.
The Add Account window will open.Select the option Manual configuration or additional server types and click Next.
Select POP or IMAP and click Next.
Enter your user, server and login details. Also select the desired account type: IMAP or POP3.
POP3: Emails are downloaded from the server and deleted from it.
IMAP: Emails are stored on the server and are only displayed.
The required information is listed below:

Click on More settings. The Internet email settings window will open.
On the Outgoing Server tab, tick the option The outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication and select Use the same settings as for the incoming server.
Then click OK.Switch to the Advanced tab.
If you are setting up an IMAP account, enter port 993 in the Incoming mail server (IMAP) field and select SSL from the Use the following encrypted connection type list.
If you are setting up a POP3 account, enter port 995 in the Incoming server (POP3) field and select SSL from the Use the following encrypted connection type list.
In the Outgoing server (SMTP) field, enter port 465 and, in the Use the following encrypted connection type list, select SSL.
Then click OK and Next.Click Finish.
You have now finished setting up your email account in Microsoft Outlook.
