Applies to all IONOS WordPress versions

WordPress 7.1.4 was released on October 28, 2026. The update addresses several vulnerabilities in the WordPress core. All WordPress versions from 4.7 through 7.1.3 are affected. Thanks to our close collaboration with the WordPress security community, we were notified early on. All websites hosted at IONOS were already protected against known attack attempts before the vulnerabilities became public knowledge.

Note

The following information is primarily intended for IONOS customers who use self-managed WordPress installations. Customers who use WordPress hosting with automatic updates do not need to take any action. IONOS updates WordPress for you.

Do I need to do anything?

If you are using a self-hosted WordPress installation in combination with a web hosting package, you need to take action. This also applies if you have installed WordPress on one of the following server products:

  • Cloud Server
  • VPS
  • VPS+
  • Dedicated Server
  • Bare Metal Server

Update your WordPress version to 7.1.4 to fix the vulnerabilities.

If you do not use WordPress, you do not need to take any action.
