Activating and editing the MyWebsite online business card

Valid for MyWebsite.

Activate the Online Business Card before you make extensive changes to your website. Your visitors will then only see your Online Business Card. This allows you to design your website in the background and add content. You can customize your Online Business Card.

Effects of the Online Business Card on your website

  • As long as your Online Business Card is activated, your visitors will see the Online Business Card.

  • You can still view and customize the content of your website in edit mode.

  • You can switch between the current status of your website and the current visitor view at any time using the preview in the toolbar.
  • Your website will not be found by search engines. The search engine ranking can be influenced by your Online Business Card.
  • Your Online Business Card will be displayed on all pages that are synchronized with Facebook.

Activate your Online Business Card

  • Log in to your IONOS account.

  • Click on Menu > Web Projects from the title bar, and select the desired project. The corresponding window will open with the project details.
  • Click on the icon with the three vertical black dots (⋮) in the Website status section.
  • Select the Activate Online Business Card option.
  • Accept the action in the pop-up dialog box.

The Online Business Card will now be online. To disable and publish your website, you can select the option in the same Website status section.

Edit your Online Business Card

You can also customize your Online Business Card with your contact details or with your own background image, for example.

  • Log in to your IONOS account.

  • Click on Menu > Web Projects from the title bar, and select the desired project. The corresponding window will open with the project details.
  • Click on the icon with the three vertical black dots (⋮) in the Website status section.
  • Select the Edit Online Business Card option.

You have the following options:

  • Display contact data: Select the contact data you want by clicking the slider to the right next to each option that you wish.
  • Change a background image: Click on one of the recommended images.
  • Upload a background image: Select an image from your computer.
  • Upload a logo: Select an image from your computer.
  • Enter custom welcome text: Click on COMING SOON and enter the text you want.

 

  • Click the floppy disk icon in the lower right corner of the page to save the changes.
