Using WhatsApp with MyWebsite Now

This article explains how to integrate WhatsApp as a contact option in your MyWebsite Now project. Visitors to your website can then reach you quickly and easily via your personal WhatsApp number.

Notes

  • The WhatsApp number used must be a mobile phone number. Landlines cannot be used.

  • The WhatsApp function is not available in all MyWebsite Now packages. If you have any questions about your package, please contact the IONOS Customer Support.

Open the MyWebsite Now editor

  • Log in to your IONOS account.
  • In the title bar click on Menu > Websites & Stores.
  • Click on Manage website in the tile with the name of your online project. The Presence Suite for this project opens.
  • In the left menu bar of the Presence Suite, select Website > Website Editor. The MyWebsite Now Editor opens in a new window.

Link WhatsApp

  • Click on Content in the MyWebsite Now editor.

  • In the detail area, click on one of the Text, Image or Button elements  to show the corresponding toolbar.

  • In the toolbar of the selected element, click on Link > WhatsApp.

  • Enter your WhatsApp number in the international number format. You can find information on the international number format in the next section of this article.

  • Complete your entry with Apply.

If a visitor to your website taps or clicks on the WhatsApp element, the installed app or the browser version of WhatsApp will open.

International number format

A phone number in international format starts with a plus sign (+) followed by the country code and the full phone number, omitting the leading zero of the national dialing code. Further information can be found in the WhatsApp help: International phone number format information

  • Mexico: +52 1 (a "1" must be added after the country code)
