For VPSs purchased after May 16, 2023

If you assign an IPv4 address and one or two IPv6 addresses to a VPS, these IP addresses are automatically configured in the operating system. These IP addresses are automatically removed from the operating system configuration when you delete them in the Cloud Panel. This article explains how to do this.

Please Note

If you assigned two IPv4 addresses and at least one IPv6 address to the VPS and configured these manually in the operating system of your VPS, you must remove these IP addresses manually. You can find instructions on how to do this in the following article:

To delete one or more IP addresses in the Cloud Panel:

  • Log in to your IONOS account.
  • Click Menu > Server & Cloud in the title bar. If you have multiple server contracts, select the relevant contract.

  • Select the desired server in the Infrastructure > Servers section.

  • Click on the pencil icon in the IP section.

  • Select the IP address to be deleted and click on Delete IP address.

    The IP address will now be deleted.
