Valid for Web Hosting and Managed Dedicated Servers.
Between July 2026 and August 2026, we will be carrying out a major update to the Linux operating system for our Web Hosting and Managed Dedicated Server products. This update will ensure that your server environment remains future-proof and meets the latest technical standards.
Once the maintenance work has been completed, you will automatically benefit from the following advantages:
- Improved performance: Even more efficient utilization of resources ensures that your web projects run smoothly.
- Maximum security: The implementation of the latest security protocols offers optimum protection for your data.
- Increased system stability: Optimizations at operating system level guarantee even more reliability.
Note
For technical reasons, a brief interruption to hosting cannot be avoided. Your webspace and websites will be unavailable for about 5 minutes during the update.
As your data is backed up automatically, data loss is not to be expected.
Updated hosting software
The update brings new versions of the Perl, Python, and Ruby scripting languages for web developers. In addition, important system and security components such as OpenSSH, OpenSSL, Git, and Bash have been brought up to date, and the supported security mechanisms have been expanded to include TLS 1.3. The Apache web server remains the centerpiece of your hosting in its proven version.
The following table shows you which new version will replace the previous software:
Notes
The server update has no effect on your PHP configuration, PHP version, or MySQL databases. You can use the same PHP versions as before.
Existing databases will remain in their current versions. New databases, however, will be created as version 11.8 (MariaDB).
