Google Search Console: Confirming Domain Property Ownership
To add a website to your Google Search Console account, you'll need to prove that you're the owner of the website or portion of the website. You have the option of creating a domain property. This property contains all subdomains and several protocols such as http and https.
To confirm ownership of a domain property, follow the steps below.
Initial setup
Log in to the Google Search Console and the Welcome to the Google Search Console page will display.
In the Domain section, enter the desired domain and click Next. The Confirm Domain Ownership via DNS Record window appears.
From the Instructions for list, select: ionos.co.uk (1and1).
Click Start confirmation.
Log in to IONOS Customer Account.
Click on Allow. The ownership of the property is confirmed.
Setting Up an Additional Domain Property
Log in to the Google Search Console .
From any Google Search Console page, open the Properties drop-down menu. You can find the drop-down menu at the top of the left sidebar. If the sidebar is not being displayed, click on the menu icon.

Click Add Property.
The Select Property Type window is displayed.
In the Domain section, type the domain you want to add and click Next. The Confirm Domain Ownership via DNS Record window will display.
In the Instructions for list, select: ionos.com (1and1).
Click Start Confirmation.
Log in to IONOS Customer Account.
Click on Allow. The ownership of the property is now confirmed.
Please Note
Please check the DNS settings of your IONOS domain if you cannot automatically confirm ownership of a domain property. Make sure that a CNAME entry with the hostname and the value _domainconnect.1and1.com is created.
