Valid for AI App & Site Builder.
This article explains how to link a web project created using the AI App & Site Builder to a domain. This will make your project accessible on the web.
Open the AI App & Site Builder
- Log in to your IONOS account.
- Click on Menu > Web Projects in the title bar.
- Click on Set up Website within the relevant tile for your AI App & Site Builder project. The AI App & Site Builder interface will open.
- Click the Start a new project button to create a new project.
If you have already created web projects, select them below the AI App & Site Builder chat window.
Internet address of your web project
By default, your web project is published to a randomly generated URL, hosted by IONOS. This address is automatically provided with a valid SSL certificate. You can find the address in the preview of your web project by clicking the Publish button in the top right-hand corner.
If you already have your own domain with IONOS, click Publish >Connect a custom domain. This will display all domains associated with your IONOS account. Select a domain and complete the process by clicking Connect domain.
Note
Subdomains cannot be linked.
Additional information
- Help Center topic “Domain transfers”: Here you will find various articles on the subject of transferring domains from another provider to IONOS, or within IONOS (different customer numbers).
- Help Center topic “SSL certificates”: Various articles on SSL certificates. An SSL certificate is like a digital ID for a website; it verifies the site’s identity and securely encrypts data transmission between the user’s device and the server, so that third parties cannot intercept it.
