Optimizing your Online Store for search engines

Valid for Online Stores ordered from 2017 onwards.

With accurate descriptions and details, you can make your IONOS Online Store easier to find via search engines. Here we show you how to optimize pages and products for search engines.

Requirements

Already set up an IONOS Online Store.
Pages, categories, and products already set up.

Optimize pages for search engines

Log in to your IONOS account.
In the title bar, click on Menu > Websites & Stores.
Optional: Select the desired website.
Click on Manage website.
On the Manage and edit your Online-Store page, click Manage your Online Store .
In the administration interface, select Editor from the left-hand menu.
Here you will find all existing content elements of your IONOS Online Store categories as well as content pages. To optimize a category or content page for search engines, click on the kebab menu icon in the left-hand menu bar next to the corresponding entry.
Click on Settings in the corresponding menu.
In the Page settings window that opens, click on Edit behind the Search engine entry entry.
Under Page title, assign a catchy name that will be displayed to your customers in the browser tab. You have up to 70 characters available for this.
Under Meta description, enter a text of up to 320 characters that will appear in your customers' search engine results. We recommend using strong keywords here.
Accept your entries by clicking on Save.

Optimize products for search engines

Carry out steps 1 to 4 from the section Optimize pages for search engines in this article.
In the administration interface, select the Products entry in the menu.
Click on Product overview.
Click on the product number of the corresponding product.
On the product page, select the last item Search engine entry .
Under Page title, enter a title of up to 70 characters that will be displayed in the search engine results.
Under Meta description, add a description of the product of up to 160 characters, which will be displayed in the search engine result. We recommend using keywords that are as catchy as possible and under which the product can be found.
Save your entries by clicking on Save.
