Valid for Online Stores that were ordered up until 2017.

In the Online Store there are preset payment methods, such as direct debit or payment by credit card. This article explains how to add additional payment methods.

Add new payment method

  • Log in to your IONOS account.

  • In the title bar, click on Menu > Websites & Stores.
    Optional: Select the desired website.

  • Click on Manage your Online Store .
  • In the main menu, select Settings > Payment.
  • Select the desired payment method from the drop-down list (Select entry):
    - Free: With this payment method, the customer does not incur any additional costs.
    - Fixed price: With this payment method, the customer must pay a fixed fee.
    - Exemption limit: With this payment method, the customer must pay a fixed fee up to a certain order value. There are no additional costs above this order value.
    - Direct debit: With this payment method, the customer must enter their account details during the order process. The data is checked for completeness, but not for accuracy and account coverage. There are no additional costs for the customer.
  • Click on Save.
  • Click on Complete setup next to the name of the payment method.
  • Now follow the steps described in the Settings tab to connect your store to the payment provider.
  • Click on Save.
  • Click on the General tab and set up the following:
    - Internal ID: Identifier under which the payment method is saved in your store administration. The identifier is not visible in your store.
    - Visible: Determines whether the shipping method is visible in the store and can be used. activate the No option until the shipping method has been set up.
    - Default selection: Defines whether this is the default payment method of your store. The default payment method is automatically preset in the order process.
    - Availability restriction: Determines whether the payment method is only offered from a minimum order value or up to a maximum order value.
    - Allow usage for the following billing addresses: Determines for which countries the payment method is available.
    - Name in shop: Name under which the payment method is displayed in your store.
    - Comment: Comment on the payment method, e.g. a note if you offer a discount for this payment method. The comment is displayed when the order is placed in your store.
    - Display logo: Here you can upload the logo of the payment provider and specify whether it is displayed in the order process of your store.
  • Complete the process by clicking Save.
