Detailed bounce rate analysis
A high bounce rate usually indicates that the landing pages are not considered relevant by visitors. If you notice a high bounce rate, you can find more relevant information in the article “Pages with a high bounce rate”.
The following can be the cause of a high bounce rate:
- Content: The content is not interesting or relevant to visitors.
- Layout/structure: Visitors cannot find their way around the website, or do not know which page to visit next.
- Technical: The page contains errors, loads too slowly, or cannot be accessed at all.
However, a high bounce rate does not always have to be negative. For example, there are websites that were created with the sole aim of providing visitors with contact details such as the company's telephone number, address, and email address. If a visitor leaves these websites immediately after the landing page, they have already received the desired information.
