Valid for HiDrive.

You can use the Mail Upload function to automatically save email attachments to a specified email address in a folder in your HiDrive account. This article explains how to set up the HiDrive Mail Upload function.

How Mail Upload works

For example, you regularly receive invoices as PDF files in an email. If you receive these emails via your Mail Upload email address, the email attachments are automatically saved in a HiDrive folder that you specify. This allows you and all other HiDrive users for whom this folder is shared to access the attachments.

Creating the Mail Upload email address

The email address is automatically generated and displayed when you set up the Mail Upload function for a HiDrive folder. This email address cannot be changed. Please note that each folder set up for the Mail Upload receives its own email address.

Note

Email addresses for the Mail Upload function cannot be used for normal email communication. If used, all content except the attachment will be deleted.

Configuring the Mail Upload function

  • Open the HiDrive web application in your Internet browser.
  • Select Private or Shared in the left-hand menu bar.
  • Right-click on an existing folder. A context menu opens.
  • Optional: You can create a new folder using the three-dot menu in the top right-hand corner.
  • Select Create Mail Upload.

Mail Upload options

  • Validity in Days: Validity period of the Mail Upload address. No more email attachments are saved after this period.
  • Overwrite Existing Files: Existing files are overwritten by email attachments with the same name without any confirmation.
