VeraCrypt is a program for Windows, Mac or Linux used for encrypting disks or specified collection folders (containers). By default, VeraCrypt keeps the modification date of a container at the time of setup, which leads to synchronization problems. This article explains how to change the corresponding VeraCrypt setting.

Deactivating the Fixed Container Timestamp

  • Start VeraCrypt.
  • Select Settings > Preferences in the upper menu bar.
  • Deactivate the option Preserve modification times of container files.
