This article explains how to use the HTML module in your MyWebsite Now website, which allows you to embed custom HTML and JavaScript.

Please Note

The HTML module is not included in all tiers of MyWebsite Now packages.

Embedding the HTML module

Prerequisite

The following description requires the Flexibilty feature to be enabled.

Alternative: If the Flexibility feature is not activated, click one of the plus signs displayed in the details area of the section after clicking on the section options. The Element menu with the HTML Module button will then be displayed.

To activate the HTML module:

  • Go to the Websites & Shops section of your IONOS account. If you have multiple MyWebsite Now projects, select the appropriate contract.
  • In the tile with the name of your online project, click the Open MyWebsite Now button. You will find this tile on the right side of the browser window. The Presence Suite opens.
  • Select the Web Page item in the left menu bar. The MyWebsite Now editor opens in a new window.
  • Select the Content item in the left menu bar of the MyWebsite Now editor.
  • In the details window, move the mouse pointer over the desired section and click the Section Options button. Details of the section options will be displayed between the left menu bar and the details window after activation. Note that the Section Options button is displayed only when you are over the section with the mouse pointer.
  • Select the HTML Module button in the Section Options menu. A freely positionable placeholder is displayed in the details pane.
  • Click the HTML Placeholder > Code to insert your HTML or JavaScript content.
  • Select the required privacy option. You can learn more about this in the Add a privacy consent paragraph below.
  • Complete your entries by clicking Done.

Adding a Privacy Consent

In the HTML module, you will find a privacy option below the code input field:

  • Consent required: Your HTML or JavaScript code will not be executed on the MyWebsite Now page until the page visitor consents. Use the New... button to create a new consent rule. Consent rules that have already been created can be reused.
  • No consent required: The HTML or JavaScript code of your HTML module is executed directly when the page is opened.

Adding HTML/JavaScript to the Page Header (Head)

When you place HTML or JavaScript code in the page header of your MyWebsite Now project, it is used on every page. Alternatively, you can use this method to add an HTML module on a single page:

  • Go to the Websites & Stores section of your IONOS account.
  • In the left menu bar of the MyWebsite Now editor, select Settings > Head Code.
  • Add your HTML or JavaScript code.
  • Select a privacy option and complete your entry by clicking Save.
