Setting Up a Domain for Your Linux Server Using Plesk (Plesk Already Configured)

For 1&1 IONOS Linux servers with Plesk Onyx

In this article, we'll show you how to set up a IONOS-registered domain on your server in Plesk Onyx for Linux.

  • You have already set up the desired domain.

  • You have enabled port 8443 in the firewall policy assigned to your server.

  • You have logged into Plesk as an administrator

Installing Domain Connect

To install Domain Connect in Plesk for Linux:

  • Click Extensions in the navigation bar on the left.

  • In the Extension Catalog tab, enter Domain Connect in the search field.

  • Select Domain Connect.

  • Click Install for Free.

The Domain Connect extension is installed.

Connecting the Domain to the Static IP Address of the Server

  • In the navigation bar on the left, click Websites & Domains.

  • Click Add Domain.

  • Enter the desired domain name in the Domain name field.

  • In the User Name field, enter the desired user name.

  • Enter the password in the Password field and repeat it.

  • Optional: Activate the option Enable support of Git.

  • To add the domain, click OK. The domain is set up. A message in the following format will then be displayed:

    Do you want to automatically associate [DOMAIN-NAME] with Plesk? Link via Domain Connect

  • To connect the domain to the static IP address of the server, click the Link via Domain Connect link. The Connect your IONOS-domain to Web Hosting on Plesk window opens.

  • Click Login.

  • Log in to IONOS.

  • Click Connect.

  • Click Close.

Your domain is now connected to Plesk Onyx.
