Setting Up Microsoft Exchange 2013 on an Android Device

For devices with Android operating system version 9.0 or later

This article explains how to set up a Microsoft Exchange 2013 account provided by IONOS in the Gmail app on your Android smartphone or tablet.

Please Note

The setup of the email account is described using the Samsung GALAXY Note 20 smartphone model with Android 11 as an example. The menu items listed below may differ slightly on other Android devices.

Automatic Configuration

  • Launch the Gmail app.
  • Tap the icon with the three horizontal lines in the top left corner.
  • Tap Settings.
  • Tap Add account.
  • Select Exchange and Office 365.
  • Enter your email address.
  • Tap Next.

  • In the Password field, enter the password for this email address.

  • Tap Next. The account information is retrieved.

  • Tap Done.

Manual Configuration

If the automatic setup of the Microsoft Exchange 2013 account fails, you can set up the account manually:

  • Launch the Gmail app.

  • Tap the icon with the three horizontal bars in the top left corner.

  • Tap Settings.

  • Tap Add account.

  • Tap Exchange and Office 365.

  • Enter your email address.

  • Tap Set up manually.

  • In the Password field, enter your password.

  • In the Server field within the Server Settings section, enter the following:  exchange.ionos.com

  • Check that port 443 is entered in the Port field.

  • In the Security Type list, select SSL/TLS.

  • Finally, tap Next.

Your Microsoft Exchange 2013 account has now been successfully added to your Android device and will be accessible through the Gmail app.
